I was totally surprised

We had an office award's party at my house last night. 2 of my realtors won awards from RE/MAX last year and I got to present them with their trophies. Both Dean Stinson and Jim Junkin won the 100% club award, which means earning over $100,000 in commission last year. Way to go guys! I'm so proud of them. I also won my first award in Real Estate, Executive club, meaning over $50,000 in gross commission last year.

To my surprise, my Realtor's and staff had an award made just for me! They presented me with a trophy. I didn't expect this. Click here to see the trophy!

Found a new "favorite" show

My daughter, Candace, was home for winter break from UBC for the past 3 weeks. She now has us hooked on a new TV show, The Big Bang Theory . It's about some science geeks, and it's very funny. I haven't laughed so much since the dead parrot skit on Monty Phython's Flying Circus. Check it out!

Winter is evil to me!

A few years ago, I slipped on the ice in the winter time and broke my wrist. Well, it's happened again!
I was snow shovelling on Thursday Jan 1. I slipped on some ice and the shovel hit me in the ribs. I was thinking when this happened I was glad to have the shovel because I didn't fall on my butt this time!

Well by Friday night I was in a lot of pain, and had a hard time sleeping. So Saturday morning, Randy (hubby) took me to the hospital and I saw the doctor. He's decided that I have a fractured rib (98% sure) or it could be a really bad bruise. Doesn 't really matter as the treatment is the same, rest and pain meds. So I get to look forward to 4 - 6 weeks of pain. YAY, I love winter, not!

So it's January 1, 2009. I think I've figured out the great toilet paper debate!

It's also the slow time of year for real estate, so perhaps, I have too much time on my hands too!

Now for that answer to the burning question of all time, over or under for the toilet paper roll!
If you are left handed, the toilet paper dispenses better when the roll is placed with the paper coming out from under! If you are right handed it works better the "over" method.

Car Zen

So one of my favorite blogs, Ed Kohler, The Deets had a website link in today's posting. It's called Car Zen. So I thought I would try it.

Well, I did. I answered honestly. It came up with an 86% recommendation for the Honda Accord EX-L. That's what I bought a couple of months ago! I guess I bought the right car eh!!!

It's cold!

I may have mentioned in the past that I dislike winter. Well I do!! At the moment it's -34 degrees C. I don't know that that is in F. All I can tell you it's cold!!!!!!

We actually don't have that much snow, not like some places. I can't believe Vancouver Island got as much snow as it did. They just aren't used to that! Here we just trudge on, but then, as I've been told it's a different snow. That's true, I remember living in Vancouver, I didn't go anywhere when it snowed. But that used to be only a day or two, not like this year!!!

Candace and I went to Trevor Linden night this week. What a great ceremony. The Canucks did a great job saluting him. I got "misty" of course!! It was a real honour to be there, I'm so glad I went, it was neat to see his banner being raised in GM Place. The game wasn't so bad either!

Snow and cold!

Well winter is here! It's minus 25 celcius here. Plus we have about 6 inches of snow on the ground. Most people in Princeton don 't go anywhere unless they have to when it's this cold. Snow doesn't bother anyone, we just carry on. But then we're used to it.

It seems like I've managed to pick up a slight sore throat, but I better get better soon, because Wednesday Dec 17 I'm going to the Vancouver Canucks game! It's Trevor Linden night, they are retiring his jersey with a ceremony an hour before the game, I'm sure I'll be quite emotional, he's been my favorite player for years. I could go on but I won't. One of my favorite moments was the 1994 cup run, I can still picture that last game after they lost. Wow, it still brings a lump to my throat, or is that because it's sore????!!!!
