What a great time! Dave Liniger (Co-Chairman and founder of RE/MAX) spoke at our opening general session. He's a great speaker, he tells it like it is! He encouraged everyone to become a specialist in the foreclosure market. Unfortunately in the States this is happening to far too many people. We in Canada are doing ok, not like the States. But I've encouraged everyone in my office to attend our upcoming educational seminar on Foreclosures. This way our office is trained and ready should the need arise.
I learned a lot at this convention, RE/MAX provides the best training in the industry, I'm really fortunate to be a part of the RE/MAX family.

Old You Tube never dies!
Just for fun I thought I would put up a link to some old you tube videos I did when I worked at CENTURY 21 and for Dean Stinson. They are still good, I just have to change names and company!

RE/MAX Convention
I won an award! I still can't believe it! I won an Executive Club award at our RE/MAX convention, this is for production in transactions last year. Not bad for only 7 months work eh?
The convention was great, I enjoyed Victoria. It was nice and warm compared to Princeton at this time of year! I met some great realtors and learned lots of stuff. It was a valuable weekend to me. I plan on attended the next convention as well in Edmonton next February.
Here's a picture of me receiving my award from Elton Ash, the Regional Vice President for RE/MAX of Western Canada.

I was totally surprised
We had an office award's party at my house last night. 2 of my realtors won awards from RE/MAX last year and I got to present them with their trophies. Both Dean Stinson and Jim Junkin won the 100% club award, which means earning over $100,000 in commission last year. Way to go guys! I'm so proud of them. I also won my first award in Real Estate, Executive club, meaning over $50,000 in gross commission last year.
To my surprise, my Realtor's and staff had an award made just for me! They presented me with a trophy. I didn't expect this. Click here to see the trophy!

Found a new "favorite" show
My daughter, Candace, was home for winter break from UBC for the past 3 weeks. She now has us hooked on a new TV show, The Big Bang Theory . It's about some science geeks, and it's very funny. I haven't laughed so much since the dead parrot skit on Monty Phython's Flying Circus. Check it out!

Winter is evil to me!
A few years ago, I slipped on the ice in the winter time and broke my wrist. Well, it's happened again!
I was snow shovelling on Thursday Jan 1. I slipped on some ice and the shovel hit me in the ribs. I was thinking when this happened I was glad to have the shovel because I didn't fall on my butt this time!
Well by Friday night I was in a lot of pain, and had a hard time sleeping. So Saturday morning, Randy (hubby) took me to the hospital and I saw the doctor. He's decided that I have a fractured rib (98% sure) or it could be a really bad bruise. Doesn 't really matter as the treatment is the same, rest and pain meds. So I get to look forward to 4 - 6 weeks of pain. YAY, I love winter, not!

I've finally figured it out, maybe
So it's January 1, 2009. I think I've figured out the great toilet paper debate!
It's also the slow time of year for real estate, so perhaps, I have too much time on my hands too!
Now for that answer to the burning question of all time, over or under for the toilet paper roll!
If you are left handed, the toilet paper dispenses better when the roll is placed with the paper coming out from under! If you are right handed it works better the "over" method.
What do you think???
